Our History
This program’s history, dates back to the Visiting Nurses Association in the 1960’s, who eventually turned their focus onto stroke support. Their name changed in the 2000’s to the Health Hope Network. At its peak, it supported 25 group sites and over 200 members. This organization dissolved in May 2010 due to lack of funding. Many members were abandoned, as only a few volunteers remained to continue programming. Nicole Glass, a former group leader, remained to volunteer seven group sites and over 60 members from 2010 - 2012. In July of 2012, she founded and incorporated The Brain Recovery Crew. She views this as a great opportunity to expand the services offered, improve the programming and reach out to more survivors, caregivers, families and professionals.
